Hill View is an installation of an Oikos Synua pivot door in Liverpool.

Project Details – Pivot Door Liverpool

Previously a barn, Hill View is now sensitively renovated and extended into a luxurious new home.

Particularly important was for the main entrance to be in keeping with the feel of the building. Moreover it should have a nod to it’s history.

Indeed the Oikos Synua has an imposing feel. Size and a feeling of hardness add to this. Furthermore the rusty look of the door finish hints at the building’s agricultural past. Also the door finish sitting comfortably along side the natural stone. Consequently it sits perfectly on the house.

Despite being visually very similar the pivot door finish is not rusty steel or COR-TEN. In fact the surface finish is porcelain. Laminam make the finishes for many of our Oikos doors. This one is Ossido Bruno. Complimentary to the Ossido Nero is the RAL 7016 frames and internal handle sector. Better known as Anthracite Grey, RAL 7016 is a popular choice on contemporary homes. The external stainless steel handle and lock plate give a clean contrast to the rust effect.

In this instance the pivot door is inside a porch. Therefore we were able to install it without a threshold. This gives a cleaner look and a completely flat transition.

Likewise with all Oikos doors this one has a steel core. The steel gives the door stability and strength. Also the steel core combined with high security locking gains Class 3 security. Notably the sidelights are also Class 3, achieved with multiple layers of laminated glass.

Despite the size of the door it is exceptionally easy to operate. Due to the balance and the ball bearing pivot.
