Sevendials – Project Details

This was a special project for us where we provided all internal & external doors. Lakes Doors Architectural supplied and installed an Oikos pivot front door with matching side door, Garofoli internal doors and a Teckentrup Supersize garage door.

Front Door

Both client and architect wanted a large statement main entrance door. In addition the door needed to offer the security and performance expected for a property of this nature. In this case the our obvious proposal was an Oikos Synua. Synua is the industry leading large pivot door. Furthermore, these impressive steel core doors can be finished in a multitude of materials.

In order to stand out on the white render the entrance door and surround needed to be dark in colour. Texture, feeling and warmth were also necessary qualities for an element of this size and importance. Consequently the chosen finish was Laminam Oxide Nero. Laminam is a very thin tile suitable for cladding systems. As a result of it being porcelain Laminam is extremely resilient against the British weather. Hence expect this finish to look as good in 10 years as when it was installed. The hardware and the door surround finish is matt black RAL.

Internal Doors

The brief inside was for the internal doors to be as minimal as possible. For this reason the architect specified frameless, full height door sets. Furthermore this door type gives a flush to wall finish. Garofoli Filomuro have a first fix extruded aluminium frame hidden in the wall. After plastering and painting the door leafs them selves can be installed. Finally bronze coloured handles compliment the pristine matt white finish.

Between the hallway and the living room we installed a large format pocket door. This bespoke item acts as a movable wall to divide the spaces only when necessary. In continuity with the Garofoli doors the pocket door has the same matt white finish.

Garage Door

Specified for the huge 3 car garage was one singe door. Teckentrup Supersize is designed for openings of this size. The huge 8m wide door is smooth in finish, colour RAL 7021 Black Grey. Direct drive automation makes the opening quiet and easy.
